our Committees

Organizing Committee

The Organizing Committee (OrgCom) is at the heart of what the IWW is all about. The committee works through on-the-ground organizing issues, developing our skills, and building the strongest most capable organizers we can! We believe that a union is not a service provided for you, but a fighting force we develop together. So join the IWW, join the committee, make us that much stronger, and let’s get organized!

Organizing Education Committee

The Organizing Education (OrgEd) Committee is the learning half of the action-based Organizing Committee. It’s where our union comes together to understand shop floor organizing through the stories and experiences of workers and organizers both past and present. We discuss the tactics and strategies, what’s worked and what hasn’t, and how all of this applies to your specific situation at work. Knowledge is power, and the keystone of becoming a stronger union together.

Public Outreach Committee

The Public Outreach Committee (TPOC) is the voice of our branch; we take the feedback, the ideas and the aims of our branch and find creative ways to communicate them to the public. Whether it’s making memes about our working class struggle, sharing stories from the rich history of our organization, or promoting the projects of our branch and our fellow workers – our mandate is to keep an open line of communication between the branch, our members and everybody else!

Canadian Regional Organizing Committee

The Canadian Regional Organizing Committee (CanROC) is the primary administrative body for the IWW in Canada. It is composed of representatives from each participating branch, as well as elected officers tasked with coordinating communication between IWW branches in Canada. CanROC is a vital resource because of its role in supporting workplace organizing across different branches and in areas where a branch may not yet be established. CanROC is one of the many ways we seek to build and strengthen solidarity among workers, regardless of the geography that may separate us.
